Chuck is a Wing Chun instructor in the Kitchener / Waterloo, Cambridge area (www.kwwingchun.com) and has produced a series of training videos on Wing Chun (www.Learn-Wing-Chun-Online.com). Over his 17+ years of experience in martial arts he has had formal martial arts training in Judo, Tae Kwon Do, Kosho Ryu Kenpo Karate and Jeet Kune Do. He also has had training in elements of Western Boxing, grappling, Tai Chi, and Wushu.

Chuck is also an instructor at Christian Wushu Fellowship (Toronto, Ontario, Canada), and continues to train in Wing Chun under the guidance of Master Nelson Chan.

  1. Dear Chuck,
    I questions concerning unarmed forms & unarmed techniques in martial arts & the differences between them it has been said it is easy hide or cover up your flaws & mistakes in techinques, but with forms you can’t like if your punches & kicks are sloppy or balance is poor, the forms make them clear. Is this true?

    You are correct. While you can correct your flaws and mistakes in a technique, it can be difficult unless you know what you should be looking for. Where as in forms, when you practice them there is NO stress (someone attacking you, or worrying about distance or timing). So if you can’t perform your forms properly under zero stress, your errors will be easier to see, and you will be able to diagnose your errors easier.
